Retired music teachers Georges and Anne (Jean-Louis Trintignant & Emmanuelle Riva) lead a comfortable life in Paris. Their daughter (Isabelle Huppert), who is also a musician, lives abroad with her family. When Anne suddenly suffers a debilitating stroke, the couple’s bond of love is severely tested. In his eighties, Georges is suddenly faced with handling the painful stress of caring for his wife as she slowly slips away from him. Winner of the 2012 Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, AMOUR is a heartfelt look at the love, loss, and memory of a longstanding relationship facing the ultimate test.
